Where is Jose Bautista in our top ten outfielders?

With the season about ready to begin it is time to put some top ten ranks out. These ranks are for 5×5 mixed cats, standard size fantasy baseball leagues. I like to try to take into account keeping four or five players when I figure out my rankings so some of that will be in effect here. If you read my article yesterday, you will know I am pretty high on Bryce Harper and sometimes I am not so high on players that everyone else is high on. So the question we pose is, where do I have Jose Bautista in our top ten rankings for OFs?

I do like Bautista, but as he begins to age you have to start wondering if and when he will fall off of a cliff. Joey Bats as many like to call him is 34-years-old and is not getting any younger. One thing that we know is that eventually ‘Father Time’ gets the best of all of us and we just can’t quite do the same things we used to do when we were younger. With that in mind as to how I like to rank players let us get started with #10.

Jacoby Ellsbury. 10. player. 43. Jacoby Ellsbury is a great baseball player. I am expecting him to have a solid season, but I am also curious if he can play over 100 games this year. He has always fought the injury bug, but as long as he can stay healthy the ranking should hold. The Yankees should be a better team this year and he stands to produce at a solid clip. Draft him as you normally would.. Outfield. New York Yankees

Ryan Braun could wind up being the steal of some drafts this year. Most guys have him going a bit down this list because of a bad season last year. His numbers were down last year, although due to a thumb injury that he battled most of the season. He is healthy now. Go and get him a little early and be rewarded.. Outfield. Milwaukee Brewers. Ryan Braun. 8. player. 76

Los Angeles Dodgers. Yasiel Puig. 7. player. 71. I don’t think that any of us know just what this young man is truly capable of. Last year even as he had a bit of a troubled season he still managed to put together some nice numbers. I would think that this could very well be a 20/20 type of season for him if he decides to take a more mature approach to the season and that is just what I am expecting. In a dynasty or a for sure keeper league I might consider taking him over the number 6 player on this list.. Outfield

Outfield. Washington Nationals. Bryce Harper. 5. player. 90. I wrote a <a href=

Outfield. Baltimore Orioles. Adam Jones. 4. player. 11. Adam Jones is just so good and so consistent and you know you are getting 30 homers and a decent average so it is hard not to draft him as a top five OF. He is very good and unlikely to miss a whole lot of time. He may not be the most flashy player in the league, but he is solid and a pretty safe bet to return plenty of value.

It is kind of hard to argue with having Stanton as a top 3 OF. Once you get to this point in the list I suppose you could mix them up any way you want according to preference. However, I think this is pretty solid to have Stanton as #3 on this list. Stanton I think is slightly inferior to the top two on this list, but only by the slightest of margins.. Outfield. Miami Marlins. Giancarlo Stanton. 3. player. 82

4. I really like Andrew McCutchen as a baseball player and as a person. He is just to me a pretty classy guy. These are the kind of players that I like to own on my fantasy baseball team. Sometimes for me things like that will lead me to a player over another just simply because I like his ethics.. Outfield. Pittsburgh Pirates. Andrew McCutchen. 2. player

It is hard to argue with almost every ranker in fantasy baseball. Pretty much everyone has Trout as their top OF and it makes sense. He has certainly brought the goods to back up the claim. Not to mention he is still only 23-years-old. I could see preferring McCutchen over him, but that is about it.. . Los Angeles Angels. Mike Trout. 1. player. 102
