Brewers second baseman Scooter Gennett shows off his sock game while preparing for the Colorado Rockies.
It’s Opening Day for Major League Baseball on Monday, and some players strive not just to play good, but to look good doing it. Scooter Gennett of the Milwaukee Brewers is one of these players. Seen in the Vine below, Gennett reaches down to adjust his uniform, exposing some excellent socks in the process.

In Brewers blue and gold, Gennett’s socks show off this 24-year-old second baseman’s style. Gennett came on strong last year, hitting .289 and driving in 54 runs. The socks didn’t seem to help his play much as Scooter finished the game 0-3 with two strikeouts in a loss to the Colorado Rockies. It was a big loss for the Brewers as the Rockies threw ten runs on the board, while the Brewers failed to score.
Luckily for Scooter and his Brewers teammates, the season is just getting started. Whether or not this sweet sock game will continue is yet to be seen, but keep an eye on Gennett as the Brewers finish out their three-game series over the next two days. After this series, the Brewers stay at home to play three games against the Pirates before going traveling to Busch Stadium to play against the St. Louis Cardinals.
