Danny Green is the man, according to an unnamed kid who decided to write a homework assignment on him.

Remember when the San Antonio Spurs are favorites to win the NBA Finals, and are the team to beat in the West even though they’re far from the top team in the conference.

Some would credit the sustained excellence of the core three in Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili. However, anyone with their finger on the proverbial pulse in recent years knows that it is the San Antonio support stuff that really keeps this title train moving.

That’s probably why some kid who wrote a homework assignment got an A in class; because Danny Green is the man, and everyone should take notice.

Why, you might ask, is Green such a “boss?” He drains threes and makes it look like a cake walk in the process. 42 percent of the time you let the man release a shot from beyond the arc, he will make you regret your life decisions.

Speaking of which, you will not want to miss what the Spurs official Twitter account posted on their own wall.

“If he makes his threes, I can make my threes.”

Truer, and more inspiring words, have seldom been spoken. Perhaps one day this kid will follow in Green’s footsteps and win both an NCAA and NBA championship of his own. We all start off dreaming big, after all.

The understatement of the century, and perhaps the assignment’s best line, is “he can shoot the money ball.”

For a guy who currently holds the NBA record for most three pointers made in a single NBA Finals series, we would certainly echo those sentiments.

Green currently owns a 42.5 percent rate from three point range over his last 4 seasons. Is he the best at his craft? Hardly. However, the man is certainly up there.

For what it is worth, Green is currently sixth among active players from downtown, sitting only behind Anthony Morrow, Steve Novak, Kyle Korver, Jason Kapono, and Stephen Curry. He ranks directly ahead of Klay Thompson, Matt Bonner, and Jose Calderon. That is hardly bad company to be in.

The difference between those guys and Green is significant in two ways though. Only Kapono and Bonner can say they have won a ring as well, and absolutely none of them have inspired today’s youth in such a way conveyed by the aforementioned picture.
