Kansas City Chiefs troll Bills QB Matt Cassel after his comments
Matt Cassel said Tuesday that he thinks the Buffalo Bills have more talent this year than his 2010 Kansas City Chiefs playoff team, and the Chiefs found that laughable.
Veteran NFL quarterback Matt Cassel was traded from the Minnesota Vikings to the Buffalo Bills this offseason, and he’s really excited about his new team. He even said Tuesday that the Bills this year have more talent that the 2010 Kansas City Chiefs, who he led to the playoffs after a 10-6 season.

“The talent level of what we have here overall is much higher than what we had in Kansas City back in 2010,” Cassel said to WGR-AM according to Around The NFL. “We had a steady running game. Dwayne Bowe had a fantastic year. He had like 18 touchdown catches and we had a strong defense and the combination of that always works together.”
Well, when Around the NFL tweeted out their story of Cassel’s claims, the Kansas City Chiefs official Twitter account was none to happy about it and responded with a classic Steve Austin gif:
Great troll there by Kansas City. Sure Buffalo has added some new talent, but claiming that they’re already better than a 2010 playoff team before the season has already started? That’s dangerous, Matt.
Casell went on to say, “We’ve got all the pieces to the puzzle here to be a successful football team. You look at an outstanding defense, a great special teams and you add our offense with it … all three have to complement each other, but at the same time our offense has the best skill players in all the league in my opinion.”
Let’s flashback real quick to the last time an NFL quarterback was a little too excited about his new team:
Vince Young claimed the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles were a “dream team” after a great offseason, but the team started 1-4 before finishing the season 8-8 and missing the playoffs. Cassel didn’t use the words “dream team” but he’s certainly treading along the same lines, hyping up a team that hasn’t made the playoffs since 1999.
The Buffalo Bills have been busy this offseason, however, adding one of the NFL’s top running backs in LeSean McCoy in a trade for linebacker Kiko Alonso. They also grabbed Percy Harvin at wideout adding to Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods and added Richie Incognito on the offensive line as well as tight end Charles Clay. This all coming after the Bills hired former Jets head coach Rex Ryan.
The Bills just missed the playoffs last year finishing 9-7, their best record since 2004, but they have a lot to live up to with Cassel claiming they’re better than the 2010 Chiefs playoff team. The Bills better make the playoffs or else you may see the Chiefs bring up Cassel’s comments again later this year.
