By Josh Hill
The Boston Marathon is a global coming together of the world’s best runners, and Kenya’s Caroline Rotich proved she was the best.
It’s a fantastic day to be watching sports, as Boston is not only honoring the Boston Marathon but will be celebrating Patriot’s Day where the Boston Red Sox play an early game and the entire city is buzzing. Another April means another running of the Boston Marathon, as one of the most iconic races in the world is set to take place on Boston this morning.
The ‘Boston Strong’ mantra has been locked into the American zeitgeist for good reasons, and it’s showed how resilient those involved in the race are. That’s more than just American’s too, it’s a global feeling of unity that pulls everyone together for a race that now means so much more than simply finishing first.
Of course, the Boston Marathon will always be connected with the bombings that took place in 2013, but that has proven this race is more than just about running endurance — it’s about human endurance.

Winning the Boston Marathon is more than just about finishing first, as it’s become something that unifies runners all over the world. No longer are you winning the race for your country or for personal gain, you’re winning it for your fellow runners and that’s what Rotich did on Monday.
