2. Recruiting.

Nick Saban did not suddenly think of these issues on Thursday. They’ve likely been ruminating his mind for months now, probably since the moment he walked off the Mercedes-Benz Superdome turf on the evening of January 1.

Though much of recruiting is done well before the final month before National Signing Day, there’s little doubt Saban checked his recruits to make sure they had whatever intangible piece he felt was missing.

He is cold, heartless and ruthless. If a recruit didn’t possess those qualities he deemed necessary to regain the program’s identity, he would have simply rescinded that prospects’ scholarship offer. Saban will get the best out of his recruits this upcoming season.

1. At the end of the day, this is Alabama we’re talking about.

Whether the need to regain “mojo” or “identity” is real or manufactured, one thing is certain, it will happen. Alabama football is Alabama football. It doesn’t stay down, at least not without a fight.

Make no mistake, Nick Saban’s goal for his program is world domination, to join the NFL and defeat Bill Belichick and the Patriots. He’ll stop at nothing until he reaches his “manifest destiny”. Alabama is the only program in college football that would give him such an opportunity.

It’s safe to say, they’ll get it done.
