Game Four between the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers has gotten incredibly chippy. There was the incident when Celtics big man Kelly Olynyk took a hold of Kevin Love’s arm and tried to rip it off.

That forced Love out of the game and he won’t return.

Then later in the first half, Cavaliers’ Kendrick Perkins set a hard screen on Celtics’ Jae Crowder. That started a scuffle and Perkins took a swipe at Crowder’s face but wasn’t ejected.

Then in the second half, J.R. Smith entered the mix and took a swipe at Crowder’s face but less obviously then Perkins. He tried to disguise it as part of boxing out and the follow through, but the referees weren’t having it and ejected Smith from the game with a flagrant-2.

They might have waited a little too long to get things under control.

Crowder left the game as well, though it was for a knee sprain and not as a result of Smith’s actions thankfully.

Considering how big of a lead the Cavaliers have, it is kind of remarkable that this game is still this chippy. These two teams clearly don’t like each other.

Interestingly enough, this has happened to Smith in the playoffs against the Celtics before. Two years ago he was also ejected against the Celtics with a flagrant-2 foul.
