Most of the United States media has been focused on the riots in Baltimore, which are in response to the death of Freddie Gray at the hands of police officers.

Baltimore Ravens legend Ray Lewis took to his social media with a powerful message for those rioting, first on Twitter.

He also had a special message on his Facebook page, this time with a passionate speech through a video.

“Violence is not the answer. We must have peace in our city,” Lewis said. “We are a city that’s built on believing in each other.”

"I've got a message for the rioters in Baltimore. #BaltimoreRiotsPosted by Ray Lewis on Tuesday, April 28, 2015"

You have to admire Lewis’ desire to still be a leader in the city where he played his entire NFL career. He very easily could’ve stayed out of the situation, but to speak out and share his feelings and thoughts takes a lot of courage.

If there is anyone who can deliver a passionate speech as well, it is Lewis.
