This year will be one of massive transition for the Atlanta Falcons, as they are under new leadership with head coach Dan Quinn and are looking to finally bounce back to where so many have expected them to be for the last few years.

After making it to the NFC Championship in 2013, the Falcons have missed the playoffs in two consecutive seasons and ended up with Top 10 draft picks both years. Last year, the Falcons had the No. 6 overall pick in the draft which they used to select Texas A&M tackle Jake Matthews.

Mike Mayock had the Atlanta Falcos drafting a tackle in the first round of his mock draft last season, but it was Michigan’s Taylor Lewan — someone who wasn’t selected until the Tennessee Titans went on the clock at No. 11 overall.

This year, Mike Mayock has the Falcons taking defensive Bud Dupree with the No. 8 overall pick in the draft.

There has been chatter of the Falcons moving up to draft Dante Fowler, with the Oakland Raiders and the No. 4 overall pick being the piece that gets this done.

Mayock is pretty plugged in and is so in tune with the war rooms around the NFL and taking his advice is a wise idea. Will the Falcons go with … in the NFL Draft this year if he’s available? Only time will eventually tell.
