The Minnesota Vikings are in need of defensive help after they took strides on offense in 2014 thanks to rookie Teddy Bridgewater. The selection of Bridgewater, along with the earlier selection of Anthny Barr out of UCLA, helped make the Vikings one of the more exciting teams to watch grow in 2014.

Can the growth continue?

Mike Mayock released his annual mock draft on Wednesday night and Vikings fans were waiting to hear what the draft expert had to say about their selection.

Last year, Mayock had the Minnesota Vikings selecting cornerback Justin Gilbert at No. 9 overall — which was half right. Gilbert went where the Vikings were selecting in the draft, but the Cleveland Browns traded up to take him instead.

Minnesota ended up with linebacker Anthony Barr, who was the much better player in 2014 and has the higher upside. This year he has the Minnesota Vikings selecting DeVante Parker from Louisville, reuniting him with quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

So how did the fans react to that pick?

With the No. 11 overall pick in the draft, the Vikings can do any number of things but all will be dictated by what happens leading up to their selection. If all works out like Mayock has laid out, then Minnesota is ending up with a player they will be more than happy with.
