NFL Draft Rumors: Browns offer two first-round picks for No. 2 pick
By Josh Hill
The NFL Draft is right around the corner and the Tennessee Titans could be moving the No. 2 pick in the very near future.
It’s looking like the NFL Draft starts with the No. 2 pick this year and will be dictated by what the Tennessee Titans end up doing.
The Titans control the flow of the draft, as they could do any number of things with the No. 2 pick as they could trade it, use it or mess it up.
Trading it and using it could end up bringing about the same result for the rest of the Top 10, but they could still mess things up by trading or using it as well. The chances they mess up the No. 2 pick is greatly decreased if they trade it — which is what they’re trying to do.
According to ESPN, the Cleveland Browns are offering up two first-round picks to try and move up to No. 2 overall and select Marcus Mariota.
It’s hard to determine how serious of an offer this is. The Titans are less than 48 hours away from going on the clock, and they need to figure out a trade if one is indeed going to happen. So far there has been increased chatter, but there has been no movement on a deal.
Cleveland has long been rumored to be using their pair of first-round picks to try and move around the draft order or fill holes on their roster. They reportedly offered a first round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Sam Bradford, and this latest trade rumor seems to suggest they’re hot for Mariota.
What this also tells us is that for all intents and purposes, the Buccaneers are locked in at No. 1 overall on Jameis Winston. It also seems to suggest that Johnny Manziel could be on the move as trading up for Marcus Mariota is not what you’d define as a vote of confidence in the young quarterback.
