Cardale Jones won a national championship with the Ohio State Buckeyes, but he’s a championship troll as well.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are national champions, and they have quarterback Cradle Jones to thank for most of their success. The Buckeyes lost their first and second string quarterbacks before the NCAA playoffs, but their season was saved by the play of Jones against Alabama and then Oregon.

Jones may be the quarterback of the national champions, but he proved that he’s so much more than a gunslinger on the gridiron. Not only is Jones earning a top flight education at the moment, he’s proving that his intelligence trickles into troll territory with a string of tweets on Friday afternoon.

To honor May Fools — which may or may not officially exist as a holiday — Jones terrified every Ohio State fan when he claimed to be leaving the Buckeyes to go to Akron.

After letting Ohio State fans freak out for a little while and after tricking scores of reporters and bloggers into thinking he was leaving Ohio State, Jones let everyone in on his ruse. Of course, May Fools doesn’t really exist, so Jones’ little prank was perceived as being very real while it lasted.

Jones certainly added a spark to our Twitter timelines, but he also probably shorted out the hearts of a few Ohio State fans along the way.
