FanDuel Hitter Options For May 8
Catcher:
Miguel Montero, Cubs ($3,100): Montero has been a bit cold lately and comes in with a decent price tag of $3,100. He is 1/2 against Jimmy Nelson and should hit safely and be a valuable player to have in our lineup.

Cheaper Option:
Wilson Ramos, Nationals ($2,800): Ramos is a solid player for the Nationals. It also does not hurt that he has hit safely in the last 12 games he has played in. He is riding a pretty nice hot streak hitting and should begin to start hitting home runs as he only has one on the season so far.
First Baseman:
Freddie Freeman, Braves ($3,900): Freeman’s price has gone up quite a bit over the past few days. That is quite alright with me as he has two career homers on Gio Gonzales and sports a .292 average against him. Freeman is heating up and should be a solid play for us here.
Cheaper Option:
Adam LaRoche, White Sox ($2,500): LaRoche has a very good career rate against Reds pitcher Jason Marquis. He has a .289 average with 3 homers and 5 RBI. LaRoche has been a bit cold lately and this could be just what the doctor ordered for him.
Second Baseman:
Brandon Phillips, Reds ($2,900): Phillips brings with him some nice pop to our lineup. He is also a nice priced option considering he is on a nice little hot streak here. Phillips has only faced Hector Noesi once and sports a 1/1 line on him. Noesi comes into the tilt with a 6.75 ERA and will most likely give up several runs to the Reds as well.
Cheaper Option:
Danny Espinosa, Nationals ($2,300): Espinosa has not been too good over his last five games, but that brings him in at a very cheap price tag. He however has been 5/9 in his career against Braves’ slugger Eric Stults so there is some hope that he can get it back in gear against the Braves.
Third Baseman:
Martin Prado, Marlins ($3,000): Prado comes into this contest riding a nice little six-game hitting streak and has become a fairly hot player. He also has hit a nice .300 average against Tim Lincecum. Prado should be a pretty safe player here.
Cheaper Option:
Alberto Callaspo, Braves ($2,200): Callaspo has been is a platoon with Kelly Johnson. However, he owns a lifetime 9/23 mark against Gonzales and should get the nod with that kind of record. He can be a solid cheap option if he gets the start.

Shortstop:
Jhonny Peralta, Cardinals ($2,800): Peralta has been a pretty hot player as of late. He has hit safely and scored five runs in his last five games while adding in a RBI. Peralta brings some pop into the lineup and does so at a reasonable price. It does not hurt that he carries a .326 career average with two homers against Francisco Liriano.
Cheaper Option:
Brandon Crawford, Giants ($2,500): I must admit I am not real excited about a cheaper option here. Crawford has been decent as of late and if i had to cut corners I would use him, but only as a last resort.
Outfield:
Mike Trout, Angels ($5,300): Trout is the most expensive hitter in the game, but he is also the most deadly. He has a solid 4/11 line in Roberto Hernandez with all four hits being home runs. It is hard to argue with using Trout here.
Gregory Polanco, Pirates ($3,100): Polanco is coming off of two hit-less games, but he is squaring off with Wacha who he is 1/3 against and is pitching pretty bad as of late. Polanco should be able to hit safely for us here.
Brett Gardner, Yankees ($3,700): Gardner has been playing pretty well as of late and gets to play in the friendly confines of Yankee Stadium. Gardner plays pretty well at home and should be a very safe player with a good likelihood to bring some pop to our lineup.
Cheaper Options:
Cameron Maybin, Braves ($2,600): Maybin comes into this game riding a pretty nice little hot streak. Despite being in the cheaper options Maybin will be a starter for me and stands to have a pretty solid game. He has been doing pretty solid work stealing a base, knocking in four RBIs, scoring two runs and a home run in his last five games.
Marlon Byrd, Reds, ($2,900): Byrd is heating up and playing very well as of late. He has now hit a homer in his last three games and will likely regress at some point, but he is a decent bet to ride him while he is hot.
As always we thank you for stopping by and wish you FanDuelers the best of luck!
