Adrian Peterson returning to Vikings on Tuesday for OTAs

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is returning to work on Tuesday and will be on the practice field
One week you’re going on a Twitter rant about your team and the way they’re handling you, and the next you’re back at work. This is the story of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Peterson is back in Minnesota on Tuesday and he is there to rejoin the team to participate in OTAs.
While, yes, this was the outcome that most saw coming in the end out of all this, it was beginning to seem as if Peterson was serious about not returning to the team. However, in the end, he had no other option than to return to work for the Vikings and that is what’s happened on this Tuesday.
Peterson missed basically the entirety of the 2014 NFL season as he was embroiled in his much-publicized child abuse case. With everything that went on between he and the Vikings, Peterson has made it very clear on numerous occasions that he does not want to play in Minnesota; he’d like a fresh start somewhere else to most likely finish up his career.
However, with the Vikings’ outlook for this year being pretty good, it would be foolish for them to trade away the man that still might be the best back in the league, even after he has missed an entire year.
Now as for why this decision was finally made by Peterson, he had this to say:
"“I decided to come back just to get around my teammates and the coaching staff. There’s never been any love lost with those guys. Basically it’s time for me to come in and test the waters and re-familiarize myself with our offense and the direction they’re trying to go in.”"
He’s certainly saying all the right things about this situation, and maybe he is indeed telling the truth. His beef is with management, not his teammates on the field.
It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here now that he’d back to work. There’s still a lot of time before the NFL season gets underway, so can the relationship be mended?
