After being ejected from Wednesday’s game in an incredible fashion, Minnesota Twins outfielder  Torri Hunter has been suspended for two games.

Everyone loves a good ejection in baseball. No, not the usual argue and get in the umpire’s face ejection, but rather the throwing of the base, Gatorade cooler and/or removal of uniforms.

Unfortunately, with those great theatrical performances, come consequences as a result.

Wednesday night, Minnesota Twins legend Torii Hunter had an all-time meltdown that saw him throwing his gear around the field without regard for human life.

After so many years in the league, you would think that a dispute over a called strike wouldn’t evict much emotion from Hunter, but it seems like he saved up well over several years of anger and frustration for that one meltdown.

Hopefully, for Hunter’s sake it was worth it, because the MLB has officially suspended the outfielder for two games as a result of the incident.

Ever the good sport, Hunter acknowledged in an interview that we all have bad days, even including the umpire.

"“We have bad days, all of us, as hitters, pitchers,” Hunter said. “Even umpires have bad days, and he had one.”"

And if that wasn’t enough, he thought the called third strike was revenge for something he had said earlier.

"“I thought it was a ball,” Hunter said of the 2-2 pitch. “The pitch before that, I thought it was a little up. He called it a strike, that’s fine. I thought the last pitch he called a strike was revenge because I said something about the pitch before that, because it was definitely a ball.”"

Regardless of if there was a personal vendetta or not, Hunter lost his cool in an all-time classic. Two games probably won’t hurt the checkbook too much, but for a Twins team competing in the AL Central, these games could very well be important come the end of the season.

Maybe then he might regret firing his laundry all over Target Field.
