Michael Vick more or less told former teammate LeSean McCoy to start chilling out

One of the biggest offseason NFL stories this year has most certainly been the accusations that LeSean McCoy threw at Chip Kelly. Not long after he was moved in a trade to the Buffalo Bills from the Philadelphia Eagles, McCoy accused Kelly of being racist, a claim that many thought was pretty outlandish and without logic.

We don’t know how his former quarterback, Michael Vick, feels about the whole ordeal, but we do know that he recently told McCoy to chill out for a little bit and not let things get to him.

During Ron Jaworski’s Celebrity Golf Challenge on Monday, Vick was speaking to reporters about the issue related to his former running back and former coach, and he revealed that not only has he spoken with McCoy, but he’s given him some advice as well.

“I try to give my little piece of advice that I can offer him. He’s his own man. He has his own feelings and emotions. So I can’t interfere with that,” Vick said via NJ.com. “The only thing I try to tell him is stay positive, don’t expose yourself so much. You’re still blessed to be playing in the NFL, a great league, and don’t take things so personal. Your life is great on and off the field. Keep it that way.”

For the most part, Vick is right. Aside from people pointing out that the racist claim was a little out there, some saw it a bit odd that McCoy would go out of his way to speak like that when he can just do his talking on the field. LeSean McCoy is still one of the best running backs in the NFL, so instead of being bitter about the deal, he should just let his play on the field do all the talking.

Back in early March, McCoy was dealt from the Eagles to the Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso, a former player of Kelly’s at Oregon. To replace him, Philadelphia signed former Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray.
