Tom Willis is great with his feet. It’s not a party trick he learned, but rather something that was necessitated by the fact that he was born with no arms. Now he’s doing what he can to raise awareness about the abilities of people with disabilities.
On Monday night, Willis’ “Pitch For Awareness” tour and campaign took him to the San Francisco Giants game against the Seattle Mariners at AT&T Park. In a remarkable moment, Willis threw out the first pitch with his foot:
That baby was right down the pipe and with ease.
Willis’ disability would certainly limit many people, but what he’s able to do with his feet is truly remarkable. The bravery and will that it takes to do this—and do it well for that matter—is amazing.
His “Pitch For Awareness” states clearly that he wants to show what people with disabilities are capable of. Willis throwing pitches with his feet for strikes is amazing and undoubtedly brings a light to exactly what Willis wants the spotlight on.
Hats off to you, Tom Willis; you deserve all the praise in the world for your courage. Don’t give up on your cause.
