Just days after the Cleveland Cavaliers were beaten by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, reports are surfacing that LeBron James is trying to push David Blatt out of town. While it may seem that Blatt wants to return as the team’s head coach in 2015-16 and completely expects to, that will likely be up to James and owner Dan Gilbert.

Blatt came over to the Cavaliers from overseas and was considered one of the best international coaches out there. It was a bit of a surprise hire for the Cavs and LeBron James seemed to be on board right away.

Although the team was taking a big leap of faith by hiring the international coach, he had a track record for winning and his Euroleague title and Coach of the Year Award in 2014 was enough to earn him his dream job as a NBA head coach.

The former Princeton point guard is one of the better minds in the game, or so it seems, but with a superstar like James leading the team, it may take a bit of time in order for an unproven coach in the U.S. to earn respect.

After just one year with the organization that ended with a runner-up distinction after losing the NBA Finals, Blatt is getting heat from the media and LeBron may be pushing him away.

Does he have a reason to do this? Of course he does. He’s quite possibly one of the top-three NBA players of all time and he was given an unproven head coach. He wants to win and maybe Blatt isn’t the answer at head coach.

Let’s take a look at five reasons why LeBron is right to push Blatt away.
