The Los Angeles Clippers swung and missed in free agency, but they still have targets they feel can make them a playoff team again.

When the Los Angeles Clippers were informed that DeAndrew Jordan would be taking his talents to Dallas, the fronton office immediately started looking for replacements. So far, none have been found but there are options on the table yet for the Clippers to pursue.
No one said they’d be easy options to swallow though.
According to Adrian Wojnarowksi from Yahoo! Sports, two of the targets the Clippers are looking at are Amare Stoudemire and JaVale McGee.
"The Clippers, who lost center DeAndre Jordan to the Dallas Mavericks in free agency, are taking a strong look at McGee, league sources told Yahoo Sports. …Rivers also is expected to speak with free agent Amar’e Stoudemire on Sunday, league sources told Yahoo Sports."
Obviously, this is all a ploy yo replace DeAndre Jordan, who bolted to Dallas to join the Mavericks this weekend. It was speculated that such an outcome could be the end result of the Clippers pursuit of re-signing Jordan, but not many inside the organization believed he’d leave.
To counter the loss, the Clippers are targeting two subpar big men that Doc Rivers might be able to utilize to his advantage. One upside is that they might improve the free throw percentage a little bit over what Jordan had — but let’s not get our hopes up.
Los Angeles needs to find a big to replace Jordan — and the market has no one left to do that. Instead, the Clipps need to cobble together pieces like Stoudemire and McGee to ensure they have the right pieces to make a run at the NBA Finals next season.
That’s a lot easier said than done, though.
