Royals OF Alex Gordon carted off field (Video)

The Kansas City Royals are holding their breath after outfielder Alex Gordon crashed into a wall and had to be carted off the field.

The last thing that the Kansas City Royals need at this point in time is a major injury to a major star. That’s the case though as the Royals watched as Alex Gordon was carted off the field after colliding with the wall.

In the Royals game against the Rays on Wednesday night, Alex Gordon collided with the wall, fell awkwardly and had to be carted off the field.

It wasn’t a hard collision, but the way Gordon went down after such little contact makes it look like this could be a very bad situation for Kansas City.

If Gordon’s injury is serious — which it appears to be — then the Royals will take a giant step back in the AL Central race. They’re in a dog fight with the Minnesota Twins and losing Gordon would be something that sets the team back in the worst way possible.

Alex Gordon missing time isn’t a fatal blow to the Royals lineup, but it’s going to make things a lot harder than they have to be.
