The Clippers are basically holding DeAndre Jordan hostage and Blake Griffin wants you to know that he’s in on the joke.

When the Dallas Mavericks looked like they were going to sign DeAndre Jordan, the Los Angeles Clippers went into full panic mode and decided to fly to Texas and convince their big man not to leave. As reports began to trickle in that Jordan was having second thoughts about leaving the Clippers, a contingency of Doc Rivers, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin flew to Houston to convince the big man not to leave them in the dust.

Not only were the Clippers meeting with Jordan, but they were preventing him from leaving and meeting with the Mavericks — basically holding him hostage. This was something that the word quickly caught onto and made into the uncanniest storyline of a weird day on basketball twitter.

To make matters not at all better, Blake Griffin acknowledged that the world thinks he and the rest of the Clippers are holding DeAndre Jordan hostage until he re-signs with the team at midnight.

Not to be outdone, once it was announced that Mark Cuban had pulled off his pursuit of Jordan, Blake dropped the mic.

Blake Griffin really is as cool as he seems in all those commercials.

Never change Blake, never change.
