Thursday afternoon Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller announced that instead of transferring out to another school where he could potentially be inserted as the starter immediately, he would be returning to Columbus for his final season. Of course, this being the first time that we heard from the mouth of Miller himself that he intends to stay, it was all news to us.

However, the question was begged by some: How long has head coach Urban Meyer known about this? Was he just learning of Miller’s final intentions yesterday like the rest of us, or has he been keeping this a tight-lipped secret?

Well, apparently, the answer is the latter.

There were a few instances where Meyer alluded to the notion that Miller would be coming back for his final year but, quite frankly, we weren’t really going to believe anything until we heard it from the man himself, Braxton Miller.

That being said here, at least Urban had a pretty nice jump on what will undoubtedly be one of the toughest decisions that he has ever had to make in his illustrious coaching career. With the news of Braxton Miller making his way back for one more season, Ohio State now has three quarterbacks capable of carrying them to another national championship. Eventually, Meyer is going to break the news to two of the three that they won’t be starting when the season opener against Virginia Tech hits.
