NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science.
Here are my early FanDuel picks for July 11:
Catcher:
Best Bet:Ā
Kurt Suzuki,Ā Twins ($2,200):Ā Suzuki has torched Alfredo Simon in his career. He is 4 for 10 with a double, two homers, and three RBI off of the Tigers righthander. He could provide great numbers at a bargain price this afternoon.
Honorable Mention:
Salvador Perez,Ā Royals ($2,400):Ā Perez is 4 for 11 with two walks, a double, a triple, and a RBI off of Mark Buehrle in his career. The best options are both cheap at catcher today.
Next: Who Are The Best Pitchers?

Pitcher:
Best Bet:
Jake Odorizzi,Ā Rays ($8,600):Ā I usually say stay away from a pitcher in his first start off of the DL because of pitch limits and general rust, but you canāt deny what Odorizzi has done to Houston. He has given up just three hits while striking out 11 in the 22 times the current Houston roster has faced him. If you still donāt trust the DL thing, feel free to spend for Matt Harvey. The only blemishes on his record against the Diamondbacks are solo home runs by Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Paul Goldschmidt. He has struck out 18 Diamondbacks in 42 at bats, and Noah Syndergaard dominated them last night. It sure looks good for Harvey too.
Honorable Mention:
Jon Lester,Ā Cubs ($8,900):Ā Lester has held the current White Sox roster to a .231 average with just two homers and 11 RBI in 169 at bats. The Sox have also struck out 47 times against him. Lester has been pitching well lately. Today should be no exception.
Stay Away:
Phil Hughes,Ā Twins ($7,700):Ā You probably donāt want to go cheap at pitcher today. Hughes is tempting, but the Tigers have a long history of knocking him around. .287 with 8 homers and 27 RBI in 195 at bats off of him. And Alfredo Simon has done pretty well against the Twins in his career. It looks like a dud for Hughes today.
Next: Up Next: Corner Infielders
Jul 8, 2015; Kansas City, MO, USA; Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer (35) is congratulated in the dugout after scoring against the Tampa Bay Rays in the fifth inning at Kauffman Stadium. Mandatory Credit: John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports
First Base:
Best Bet:
Jose Abreu,Ā White Sox ($3,400):Ā Itās a rare occasion that first base is this barren for past stats. Unfortunately for us, Miguel Cabrera is on the DL. He has punished Phil Hughes with a ,472 average, five homers, and 13 RBI in just 36 at bats. Now the next best is Abreuās 3 for 6 with a double, a walk, and a RBI off of Jon Lester.
Honorable Mention:
Eric Hosmer,Ā Royals ($2,700):Ā Hosmer is 6 for 20 with two doubles off of Mark Buehrle. He is the next best thing unless you want to roll the dice with Paul Goldschmidt, who is 1 for 5 with a solo homer and four strikeouts off of Matt Harvey. You are better served taking that chance on DraftKings where outs donāt count against you.

Fantasy CPR
Third Base:
Best Bet:
Nick Castellanos,Ā Tigers ($2,600):Ā Castellanos is 3 for 9 with a double, a walk, and two RBI off of Phil Hughes. Yep, third base is littered with guys who have struggled against todayās opponents. Castellanos is your best bet.
Honorable Mention:
Evan Longoria,Ā Rays ($2,900):Ā Longoria is one of the few that has hit Dallas Keuchel well. Longo is 3 for 6 (all singles) with a RBI off of the Astros ace.
Next: Let's Check The Middle Infield
Jul 9, 2015; Kansas City, MO, USA; Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar (2) is congratulated in the dugout after scoring in the first inning against the Tampa Bay Rays at Kauffman Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports
Second Base:
Best Bet:
Jose Altuve,Ā Astros ($4,500):Ā How thin is second base? So thin that Altuve with his 1 for 2 with a walk off of Jake Odorizzi gives him top billing.
Honorable Mention:
Aaron Hill,Ā Diamondbacks ($2,300):Ā Hill is somehow 3 for 8 off of Matt Harvey. That is as good as you are going to find against the Mets ace.

Climbing Tal's Hill
Shortstop:
Best Bet:
Alcides Escobar,Ā Royals ($2,500):Ā Escobar is hitting a cool .400 (8 for 20) with two doubles and a RBI off of Buerhle. And you know he is a threat to steal when he is on that often.
Honorable Mention:
Alexei Ramirez,Ā White Sox ($2,300):Ā Ramirez does not own a great average (.229; 8 for 35) off of Jon Lester, but he does have two walks, three doubles and three RBI. That at least makes him worth a look.
Next: Last But Not Least: The OF
Jul 9, 2015; Chicago, IL, USA; Chicago White Sox left fielder Melky Cabrera (53) waves his hand after hitting a home run in the sixth inning against the Toronto Blue Jays at U.S Cellular Field. Mandatory Credit: Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports
Outfield:
Best Bets:
Yoenis Cespedes,Ā Tigers ($3,500):Ā Cespedes has hit Hughes hard in his career already. He is 6 for 12 with a walk, three doubles, a triple, a homer, and a RBI off of Hughes. He is a great bet to score some runs even if he fails to drive in any.
Melky Cabrera,Ā White Sox ($2,800):Ā Melky is 12 for 42 with two walks, two doubles, a homer, and four RBI off of Jon Lester. He is a strong bet for points at a solid price today.
Adam Eaton,Ā White Sox ($3,000):Ā Eaton is 4 for 11 with a RBI off of Lester, but as long is he is on base, he has the potential to turn in a big scoring day.
Honorable Mention:
Cameron Maybin,Ā Braves ($4,300):Ā Maybinās 4 for 16 with a solo homer off of Jorge De La Rosa is nothing to write home about, but the fact that he is on fire and the game is in Coors Field might make him a sneaky pick.
Michael Cuddyer,Ā Mets ($2,200):Ā Cuddyer is 4 for 11 with a walk, a double, and a RBI off of Patrick Corbin. He could be a very cheap source of points if you want to spend big elsewhere.
