If we can’t have real football, then at least we can watch awesome hype videos on repeat until the season kicks off. They’re a nice little drop of goodness on a pallet thirsting for anything pigskin.

This Baylor Bears hype video for 2015 is a pretty awesome primer, mainly because it tells a story. Last season the Bears fell short of the inaugural College Football Playoff, only to lose in heartbreaking fashion to Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl. It was a source of disappointment then; now it serves as motivation.

While 11-2 is a banner year for any team, it’s hard to think about Baylor’s 2014 campaign without a little bitterness on the gums. They absolutely shellacked every single team up until being played tightly by TCU (one of the season’s best games) and then falling on the road to West Virginia the following week. The Bears were later frozen out of the CFP thanks to the Big 12 having no true champion. So while it was one of the best season’s in school history, the Bears were ultimately a nice little side story in the capsule of the 2014 season.

Fast forward to this year, and it’s safe to assume that Art Briles is prepared to go America all over the world of football. The way Baylor’s schedule sets up, the Bears will likely lay waste to every opponent through October, and could at some point see a No. 1 ranking. Unfortunately for them, starting on November 5 the gauntlet really begins.

The team’s last five games are as follows: at Kansas State, home against Oklahoma, at Oklahoma State, at TCU and back home to finish out the season against Texas. If they want to make the CFP, the Bears will have to prove it all on the backend of the season when committee members’ ears are the most perked. Circle November 27 on your calendars, because there’s a realistic chance that Baylor and TCU will both enter the contest undefeated. If so, they will play what figures to be the game of the year for a chance at the CFP.
