The future of Ty Lawson is up in the air, but at least three teams are interested in trading for him.

It’s been a rough offseason for Ty Lawson, as he’s unwanted in Denver and was thought to be unwanted around the league. HIs DUI arrest earlier this week certainly didn’t seem to help his value on the trade market, but it’s a market that remains healthy enough for at least three teams to be interested.

According to Chris Mannix of SI.com, the Pistons and Lakers are among the teams interested in Ty Lawson, as well as the Houston Rockets.

Lawson has been an interesting character to watch recently, as there were already trade rumors swirling around him before he was arrested fro a DUI this past week. That was the official breaking point for the Nuggets, who now want to move on from the Lawson era and find his successor.

There was reportedly little interest in Lawson on the open market, but this report seems to put that to rest. The Lakers and Pistons would be dark horses to acquire Lawson given the fact that they don’t have that much to offer or they aren’t immediate contenders that Lawson would be open to playing for.

However, given the lack of trade activity so far this summer regarding Lawson, he’s likely to accept a trade anywhere halfway decent — because that place is probably better than Denver. The Rockets would be the ideal choice, and he might be placed in the right environment to get his head straight and return to the player we saw him starting to become in the past.

There’s value when it comes to Ty Lawson, but the trick is fitting him in somewhere. Denver just wants to be rid of him, and something could end up happening soon that ships him to a new team.
