Over the course of the past week or so, everyone has been wondering whether or not the Denver Nuggets would be able to find a team to trade embattled point guard Ty Lawson to. With the recent troubles that he’s experienced, some didn’t think it was all that possible for them to move him.
Well, apparently it wasn’t as impossible as some thought. According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nuggets were able to find a trade partner in none other than the Houston Rockets.
Lawson had really hurt his trade value recently by collecting his second DUI arrest. When that event took place, there were a lot of teams that soured on seeking out his services from the Nuggets. There were a few teams still rumored to be somewhat interested, but the Rockets being at the front of the line in the end is a bit surprising.
Last year for the Nuggets, Lawson averaged 15.2 points per game, which helped his chances somewhat on the market despite his off-the-court issues. As for the Nuggets and what they’re getting from this deal, they made out quite well in some sense.
Quite the interesting developments here on this Sunday night.
