Basketball prospect Thon Maker has the size of an NBA center and apparently the handles of Stephen Curry.

Thon Maker made headlines in June when he, one of the nations most coveted high school basketball prospects, said that he would be staying a member of the class of 2016. That left many schools having to keep licking their chops at the thought of landing Maker. At the Fab 48 tournament in Las Vegas, Maker showed why.

The 7’1” Maker has the size that allows him to dominate many other players his age. He showed that there’s more than just size to his game as just an 18-year-old, namely dicing up smaller, quicker, opponents off of the dribble:

That could be a dribble-move from a six-foot guard and that ankle-breaking would still draw oohs and ahs. That Maker is a legit seven-footer and has that kind of handles only makes your jaw sit heavier on the floor. An underrated aspect: that jumper was silky after he left his defender scrambling.

As you might expect, Maker is being recruited by basically every major college basketball program in the country. If this is the type of thing he’s able to do to top-tier players his age already, seeing Maker with a further developed skill-set in college could be something that we’ll one day tell our grandkids about, or just rant wildly about on Twitter.
