Blake Barnett has himself one cannon of an arm.

This footage of Alabama true freshman Blake Barnett is sure to have fans of the Crimson Tide drooling about their quarterback of the future. Over the weekend Barnett was up in Washington training with QB whisperer George Whitfield Jr., where at one point he loaded up and uncorked a roughly 70-yard laser through the uprights. Check out this dart.

Sure, he’s not in pads and had nobody (nor any of Whitfield’s brooms) in his face, but still, 70 yards with just the flicka da wrist is pretty nasty. Pair that cannon with Lane Kiffin’s penchant for going over the top and we’re talking fireworks galore in T-Town.
Barnett is part of a currently crowded quarterback competition at Bama. Right now he’s battling veteran Jacob Coker (who was the presumed starter last year, but could never beat out Blake Sims) and redshirt freshman David Cornwell for the starting spot.
A true freshman, Barnett was a 5-star recruit out of Corona, California. He was listed by 247Sports Composite (an industry-wide average) as the second best pro-style quarterback in the 2015 class, as well as the 21st overall prospect.
Here are a few more videos of the star in the making working out with Whitfield.
