Indianapolis GM Ryan Grigson gave a statement to the team’s official blog expressing his happiness to lock down the talented wide receiver for the foreseeable future.
"“It’s a great day for the Indianapolis Colts, T.Y. Hilton and his family,” said Colts General Manager Ryan Grigson. “We’re extremely happy as an organization to ensure that T.Y. will continue to be a part of our journey for many years to come. His daily excellence on and off the field is a shining example of an individual striving for greatness and what it truly means to be a Colt.”"
In three seasons, Hilton has staked his claim as one of the game’s top wide receivers while creating a formidable tandem with quarterback Andrew Luck. For his career, Hilton has 214 receptions (on 360 targets), 3,289 yards receiving and 19 touchdowns. He’s coming off the best season in his young career, in which he tied highs for receptions (82) and touchdowns (7), while accounting for a personal best 1,345 yards receiving.
Hilton and the Colts will open up the 2015 regular season on the road against the Buffalo Bills on September 13.
