There are only two games this afternoon. Who has fared the best against today’s opponent? Who has struggled? I will give you all of the numbers, then you can decide who to use!

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science.
Wade Miley doesn’t have much of a history against the Mariners, but the other three pitchers have faced their opponents enough that we have some idea of what to expect. If a player is not listed, it means that he doesn’t have enough of a history to go on.
Here are my early FanDuel picks for August 15:

Aug 9, 2015; Bronx, NY, USA; New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka (19) delivers a pitch during the first inning of the game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Gregory J. Fisher-USA TODAY Sports
Pitcher:
Felix Hernandez, Mariners ($11,200): The Red Sox have actually hit King Felix rather well. They are hitting .274 with four homers and 16 RBI in 146 at bats with 16 walks to only 28 strikeouts. He is also in Boston, so I’m not sure I want to pay the premium for him here.
Masahiro Tanaka, Yankees ($8,900): The Blue Jays have only hit .197 off of Tanaka in 76 at bats, but they do have three homers and six RBI. That said, Tanaka has struck out 25 and only walked one….in 76 at bats! The strikeout potential is definitely there.
Marco Estrada, Blue Jays ($8,700): The Yankees are hitting .272 with four homers and 12 RBI off of Estrada in 81 at bats with six walks and 16 strikeouts. This makes Tanaka look even better.
Wade Miley, Red Sox (7,100): The current Mariner squad has just 3 hits in 16 at bats against Miley (.188). All of them are singles, and they have not scored a run or walked. Miley has also struck out one in every four Mariners he has faced. Can he keep that up?
My Pick: Tanaka
Catcher:
Brian McCann, Yankees ($3,600): McCann is 6 for 15 (all singles) with a walk and a RBI off of Marco Estrada. Just be wary that he might get a day off with the quick turnaround.
Russell Martin, Blue Jays ($2,900): Martin’s only hit in three at bats off of Tanaka is a two run single. He had an off day on Thursday, so he should be in there tomorrow.
Dioner Navarro, Blue Jays ($2,300): …..especially since Navarro is 2 for 12 with three strikeouts against Tanaka.
Blake Swihart, Red Sox ($2,200): Swihart has only faced King Felix once before, but he collected a single, a double, and a RBI in three at bats.
My Pick: Martin

Aug 6, 2015; Toronto, Ontario, CAN; Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Edwin Encarnacion (10) hits a two run home run during the third inning in a game against the Minnesota Twins at Rogers Centre. Mandatory Credit: Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports
First Base:
Edwin Encarnacion, Blue Jays ($4,800): Edwin is 5 for 10 with a double, a home run, and two RBI off of Tanaka. He returned to the lineup just in time!
David Ortiz, Red Sox ($4,500): It’s no surprise that Ortiz has handled Felix. He is 15 for 38 (.395) with eight walks, two doubles, two home runs, and seven RBI off of the King. Ortiz could rack up the points tomorrow.
Mark Teixeira, Yankees ($3,600): Tex is only 2 for 7 against Estrada, but both hits are home runs and he has driven in four. He is a little more valuable in DraftKings, but he could perform nicely for you in FanDuel as well.
Logan Morrison, Mariners ($2,300): Morrison went 0 for 3 off Miley the only time he faced him.
My Pick: Ortiz
Third Base:
Josh Donaldson, Blue Jays ($5,400): Donaldson is the highest priced hitter in the early tournaments, but he is only 1 for 8 with a solo home run off of Tanaka. That’s not enough for me to fork over that kind of money for him.
Alex Rodriguez, Yankees ($3,700): ARod is 2 for 8 with a double and two RBI off of Estrada. Those are solid numbers, but not super-human.
Kyle Seager, Mariners ($3,400): Seager is 2 for 3 off of Miley in his career. He is a solid option if you are looking to save some cash.
Chase Headley, Yankees ($2,800): He has the same stats as ARod at $900 less.
Pablo Sandoval, Red Sox ($2,200): Panda is 2 for 7 with a solo home run off of King Felix. At this price, he is worth a flier.
My Pick: Seager
Next: Next: The Middle Infield
Aug 13, 2015; Cleveland, OH, USA; New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius (18) rounds third base on his way to scoring a run against the Cleveland Indians during the fourth inning at Progressive Field. Mandatory Credit: Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports
Second Base:
Robinson Cano, Mariners ($3,700): Cano is 0 for 3 against Miley. It’s a small sample size, and Cano has been hot, so it might be worth a shot.
Stephen Drew, Yankees ($2,600): Drew is 0 for 4 with three strikeouts against Estrada. Look elsewhere for cheap production.
Ryan Goins, Blue Jays ($2,500): Same here. Goins is 0 for 6 with two strikeouts against Tanaka.
Brock Holt, Red Sox ($2,400): Holt is just 1 for 12 against King Felix with a walk and a RBI. Hey, at least he has a hit!
My Pick: Cano
Shortstop:
Troy Tulowitzki, Blue Jays ($4,100): He was unsuccessful in three at bats in his only game against Tanaka so far.
Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox ($3,400): Xander is 0 for 6 with a walk against Felix.
Didi Gregorius, Yankees ($2,500): He is 1 for 3 against Estrada. That might be the best you get for previous stats at SS.
My Pick: Gregorius
Next: Now For The Outfield
Aug 14, 2015; Toronto, Ontario, CAN; New York Yankees right fielder Carlos Beltran (36) hits a three-run home run against the Toronto Blue Jays in the eighth inning at Rogers Centre. The Yankees won 4-3. Mandatory Credit: Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports
Outfield:
Jose Bautista, Blue Jays ($5,100): Bautista is just 2 for 13 against Tanaka, but he does have a solo home run off of him. He is probably better suited for DraftKings as well, especially at this price.
Hanley Ramirez, Red Sox ($3,400): HanRam is nursing a sore foot, but if he does play, he is a solid 3 for 11 off of Felix. None of those are counting stats though.
Brett Gardner, Yankees ($3,300): Gardner is just 1 for 8 against Estrada in his career. He can’t utilize his speed if he can’t get on base…..
Carlos Beltran, Yankees ($3,100): Beltran is 4 for 17 (.235) off of Estrada, but he has walked three times and homered twice. He is a much safer play than Gardner.
Jacoby Ellsbury, Yankees ($3,000): Ellsbury is 3 for 8 with a RBI off of Estrada.
Franklin Gutierrez, Mariners ($2,800): He is 1 for 3 with a double off of Wade Miley. Again, he might be worth a shot.
Alejandro De Aza, Red Sox ($2,600): De Aza is 2 for 10 in his career against Felix. That is nothing special, so it is probably best to look elsewhere.
Kevin Pillar, Blue Jays ($2,200): Pillar has two singles in four at bats against Tanaka. He could get you some points at a low price.
My Picks: Beltran, Mookie Betts, Pillar
