Most of the action is in the night tournaments on this day. With 26 pitchers available, there are plenty of good and bad options. Letās take a look at which is which.

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science.
We will give the you best options whether you are looking so spend big on a pitcher, or to save some money and try to make it up with offense. Iāve got you covered!

Here are my FanDuel pitcher picks for August 15:
Next: Who Is The Best High Priced Option?
Aug 4, 2015; Chicago, IL, USA; Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer (22) reacts during the fourth inning against the Chicago White Sox at U.S Cellular Field. Mandatory Credit: Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports
High Priced Options ($8,500 and up):
Best Bet:
Jake Arrieta, Cubs ($10,500): Arrieta has pitched well against the White Sox so far in his career. They are only hitting .200 with a homer and six RBI in 65 at bats with 15 strikeouts. The strikeout potential is there, and so is the win potential against Jose Quintana.
Honorable Mention:
Chris Archer, Rays ($11,400): The Rangers are only hitting .200 against Archer, but they do have a homer and ten RBI in 75 at bats. He does have 35 strikeouts against him though. For this price, you would love a guarantee at the win. That is hard to come by with Archer, but he will rack up some good points for you regardless.
Stay Away:
Johnny Cueto, Royals ($11,000): Cueto has struggled some against the Angels. They are hitting .260 off of him with four homers and 14 RBI in 104 at bats. His strikeout to walk ratio is 9:19 against the Angels, which is also not very good. You can spend your money better elsewhere.
Next: Is There A Mid-Price Guy That Can Steal The Show?
Aug 7, 2015; Detroit, MI, USA; Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander (35) in the dugout against the Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park. Mandatory Credit: Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports
Mid Range Option ($7,400-$8,400):
Best Bet:
Justin Verlander, Tigers ($7,700): Verlander has dominated the Astros current roster so far. They are hitting just .151 off of him in 73 at bats, but they have driven in ten runs. Verlander does own 21 strikeouts though, and Collin McHugh has pitched well lately. This is not a sure win for Verlander under any circumstances, but he should give you good points for the price.
Honorable Mention:
Jose Quintana, White Sox ($8,200): Quintanaās numbers are a little ugly on the season (4.26 ERA, 1.42 WHIP),Ā but he has dominated the Cubs. The North Siderās are hitting just .163 with two RBI in 43 at bats against him. Itās a small sample size, but you canāt argue with results.
Stay Away:
Matt Shoemaker, Angels ($7,600): As if giving up seven runs in his last start wasnāt enough to keep you away, Iāve got more. The Royals are hitting .444 with two homers and 11 RBI in 54 at bats, and he has only posted seven strikeouts. His win possibility is virtually zero against Johnny Cueto as well.
Next: Is There A Low Priced Option That Could Surprise?
Aug 9, 2015; Chicago, IL, USA; San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Jake Peavy (22) throws against the Chicago Cubs during the first inning at Wrigley Field. Mandatory Credit: David Banks-USA TODAY Sports
Low Priced Options ($7,300 and under):
Best Bet:
Miguel Gonzalez, Orioles ($7,100): Gonzalez has pitched well against Oakland so far in his career. The Aās are only hitting .180 with a homer and six RBI in 61 at bats. He has managed to strike out 11 Aās in that time as well. He could be a steal if you are looking to go cheap.
Honorable Mention:
Jake Peavy, Giants ($7,200): The Nationals are ice cold right now, and Peavy has done well against them in his career. Those things both make this pick look pretty good. The Nationals are only hitting .202 with four homers and 11 RBI in 129 at bats. They may do a little damage, but Peavy has racked up 44 strikeouts against them as well. If you are looking to save with favorable results, this could be a good bet.
Stay Away:
Charlie Morton, Pirates ($6,700): Morton has been hammered by the Mets. They are hitting .325 off of him with two homers and 12 RBI in 83 at bats. I would stay away from this, considering the way the Mets have been pitching lately.
Stay tuned for the hitter picks!
