Baylor’s long snapper went drain-o on a nicely filmed trick shot.

Might as well just pen Jimmy Landes in for All-Big 12 First Team. Baylor’s long snapper drained a trick shot* from the upper deck of McLane Stadium into a trash can that was down on the field, nestled right up to the goal post. He didn’t even knock the can over, either. Que impresionante.
*I’m not really sure what constitutes a shot, and “trick snap” sounded odd. There are so many of these Dude Perfect-esque stunts nowadays that it’s easiest to call them “trick shots” no matter the highlight.

Pretty sick little snap right there. I’m going to go out on a limb and say it was the first and only take the guys had to do. Landes is a vet and there were no outtakes, so seems like a once-off moment. Pics or it didn’t happen, right? No warm-ups mean dude went stone cold sniper and gunned it down on the first go-round.
Quasi side note: Baylor is really making a run for this “America’s Team” moniker, eh? Art Briles went all Captain America on the world last year when discussing his team’s chances at a College Football Playoff berth.
"“What country do we live in? I think it’s America,” Briles said. “That’s kind of always been the American way. If there’s a conflict or a doubt, you put two people in the ring and they fight. There’s a winner. If there’s a question who’s the fastest guy, you put them on the track and the fastest guy is the guy you pick. That’s kind of how I see it. It’s a democratic society.”"
And now here his guys are throwing out a U-S-A chant after nailing a trick shot. They’re one Hacksaw Jim Duggan in-game cameo away from having the ‘Merica market cornered.
Baylor kicks off its season on Friday, September 3 on the road against SMU.
