Washington head coach Chris Petersen heard the comments that Art Briles made and he was having none of it
Over the course of the past 24 hours, the story that has taken over the college football landscape is that involving Baylor head coach Art Briles, the football program and dismissed player Sam Ukwuachu, who was recently found guilty on sexual assault charges. Well, in trying to get everything under control, Briles made a statement about Ukwuachu’s former coach at Boise State, current Washington head coach Chris Petersen, that may not have entirely been true.
On Friday morning while trying to smooth things over with the media, Briles suggested that he had talked with Petersen before the transfer and that there was no mention of past domestic violence issues. As we came to find out, Ukwuachu had a history of this behavior at Boise State.
Art Briles: "I talked with Chris Petersen personally. No mention of anything beyond Sam being depressed, needing to come home."

Now if that’s the case, then you could see a bit where Briles didn’t know the type of person that he was getting to come play in Waco for him.
Here’s the thing, though: Petersen is saying that he absolutely informed Briles of who he was getting, basically calling the Bears head man a liar.

It’s still early in this saga, as we all really just learned about it on Thursday. However, as time keeps going on here, Art Briles just keeps looking worse and worse.
Knowing as much as we do about the history of both men, when you really sit back and think about it, who are you going to believe, Art Briles or Chris Petersen?
I think I can guess what most of the answers would be.
