Steve Sarkisian issues apology for drunken speech at USC event (Video)

Steve Sarkisian issued an apology on Tuesday for the events that transpired over the weekend at a USC event
With the college football season nearly one week away, the big story in the game really has nothing to do with anything on the field. Rather, all of the attention right now is USC Trojans head coach Steve Sarkisian and what happened over the weekend at an event for the team. When it was his time to speak, it was pretty clear that Coach Sarkisian was intoxicated, which is unacceptable behavior.
On Tuesday, Sarkisian met with the media and he addressed the situation. At a time when he maybe could have made a lot of excuses for what went down, Sark actually came clean about a lot of things.
Aside from apologizing for his behavior, he also mentioned that he had been taking some “meds” with his drinks and he will be seeking treatment for whatever he’s battling with at the moment.
The biggest thing to take away from this is the fact that he’s getting help for whatever it is that he is dealing with. Clearly, just from watching him speak to the media on Tuesday, there is something that he’s battling with in his life as it pertains to substance abuse.
Hopefully, Sarkisian can get the help that he needs and get his life back on track. Ultimately, that’s more important than potentially leading USC to a College Football Playoff berth.
