Week 3 of the preseason is one of the most important to pay attention to for your fantasy football team.  NFL teams use Preseason Week 3 as their “dress rehearsal,” so it’s the closest thing we’ll get to see to teams real offense before the regular season kicks off September 10.  Aside from trying to figure out how good your team will be this season, check out this slideshow for 10 things to watch in Preseason Week 3 for your fantasy football team.

These are the ten things I’ll be tracking closely during Preseason Week 3:

10. Jordan Reed

Reed has a golden opportunity in front of him, and we should get a good idea of how healthy he is this week.  After an injury to Niles Paul in the preseason opener, Jordan Reed is all alone atop the Redskins tight end depth chart and could be primed for a top-10 TE season.

Reed had a big rookie year in 2013 playing well in seven games before sustaining a concussion against the Eagles.  He was targeted at least six times in five of those seven games and had a pair of games with at least eight catches and 90 yards.  Reed was growing into a trusted part of RG3’s receiving corps before his injury which forced him to miss the rest of the 2013 season.

Last year, he tore his hamstring in week 1, sat out over a month, and then returned with a big game against the Cardinals (eight catches on 11 targets for 92 yards). He has another big game later in the season against the Colts catching nine of his 11 targets for 123 yards. Later on in the season, though, he suffered another setback with his hamstring and played limited snaps the rest of the season.

When Reed has been healthy, he’s shown a solid rapport with RG3 and shown he can be a fantasy football factor especially in PPR leagues.  However, the big question with Reed is obviously his health.  He recently proclaimed he is 100% healthy and ready for the season.

If he shows he’s healthy and ready to carry the load at TE for Washington, he should get enough looks to make him a top 10 tight end, but there will always be a big-time injury risk.  With a good showing this week, Reed makes an interesting late-round flier, but watch him closely this weekend to see if he’s back to close to 100% and if he still has that strong connection with RG3.
