Georgia vs Louisiana-Monroe called early due to weather; Bulldogs roll 59-14
By Jack Crosby
The Georgia Bulldogs won their opener against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday, even though they didn’t play a full game
Well, the first game of the season for the Georgia Bulldogs is officially in the books and they had absolutely no problem with Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday, steamrolling the Warhawks to the tune of 59-14. At least for this week, this most certainly looked like a team that’s ready to make a run towards that SEC East title.
Now, it has to be noted here that while Georgia won in Sanford Stadium on Saturday, they didn’t actually play an entire game (Which actually may have been best for ULM who was getting slaughtered).
After a pretty severe lightning delay in the second half, this game was called with just under 10 minutes to go in regulation and everyone was just more than happy to get this over with.
Alright, that’s all well and good because, again, Georgia was just having their way with their Sun Belt opponents. With the amount of time that was left, who knows how out of hand this could have gotten.
The question that we all should be asking ourselves, however, is why human beings are just having a good old time on the field when the game was called for, you know — A LIGHTNING ISSUE!
I am not a weather expert by any means, but that doesn’t seem all that safe to me.
