Kansas took it on the chin from Twitter after going down big early to South Dakota State.
Poor David Beaty. The whole world knew it was a tough road for him to rebuild the Kansas Jayhawks’ program. After all, the Jayhawks have fallen to college football’s version of the Gimp under previous coaches Turner Gill and Charlie Weis. But then again, it wasn’t supposed to be this bad.

During Saturday’s season-opener, the Jayhawks were absolutely waxed during the first half against FCS South Dakota State. At halftime Kansas was down 31-14 to the Jackrabbits.
Without even waiting for the second half of the contest, the Twitterverse bared its fangs and took a massive bite out of the Jayhawks. Here’s some of the snark culminating from the smartest people in the room.
And the worst part for Kansas is it's still paying Charlie Weis for this dumpster fire.

Just how bad is Kansas football? They trail South Dakota State by 10 in the 3rd quarter. SDSU played DIII UW Oshkosh last year!

Kansas is losing at home to South Dakota State. No worries Jayhawks fans. Basketball season will be here soon.

Perhaps the shoot-first mentality of Twitter was a bit premature. Kansas scored 21 unanswered points after falling down 31-7 early.
