Lee Corso’s headgear pick on College GameDay, Wisconsin vs Alabama (Video)
Lee Corso made his trademark headgear pick on College GameDay for the Wisconsin-Alabama game down at AT&T Stadium.
Welcome back, College GameDay, oh how we’ve missed you. After a billion months away (give or take a few days) ESPN’s college football tentpole returned to fill up the Saturday morning void that has been all too prevalent in our lives this summer.
This week’s headgear selection was for the banner non-conference Wisconsin-Alabama game down at AT&T Stadium. It was Bucky Badger vs. Big Al.
When breaking down the game, it was the tale of consistency versus overhaul. Wisconsin has a new leader in Paul Chryst. After Gary Andersen shocked a majority of football fans by up and leaving Sconnie Nation for Oregon State, AD Barry Alvarez went deep into the well to pluck Pittsburgh’s top man, and UW alumnus Chryst. Chryst showed moderate success during his time with the Panthers, but one thing he’ll most certainly offer Wisconsin is stability. After the unsuspected departures of Bret Bielema and Andersen, Alvarez needed somebody to stop his program from being a revolving door.
On the other sideline is one of the game’s legends, Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide may have questions at quarterback, but with Saban, offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and defensive coordinator Kirby Smart, Alabama has the coaching staff to weather uncertainty under center. Having Derrick Henry in the backfield also doesn’t hurt.
After running down all the facts and figures, Corso ended up choosing Alabama. Here’s Coach donning the headgear and officially kicking off another season of college football with his old friend Big Al.
