Louisiana-Lafayette will be sporting some pretty awesome lids on Saturday night when they open the season vs Kentucky

The college football season is officially underway, and one of the games that we’ll see on Saturday night features the Ragin’ Cajuns from Louisiana-Lafayette taking on the Kentucky Wildcats. This should be a pretty fun match up of the Sun Belt vs one of the potentially up-and-coming teams in the SEC.

Of course, with Louisiana-Lafayette being from the Sun Belt, this is a pretty big opportunity for them. To be a Sun Belt team that upsets a team from the SEC early on in the season is something to be quite proud of, just ask Louisiana-Monroe about Alabama a few years ago.

With this being such an important game, a slight uniform change was certainly in order. For this one, Louisiana-Lafayette revealed that they’ll be wearing some pretty awesome new helmets when they hit the field on Saturday night.

Really no better way to represent your state here. These helmets with the awesome fleur-de-lis logo is one of the better uniform changes that you might see on this opening weekend.

While they’re great, you know ULL would still love for nothing more than to come away with a win over an SEC team — even if it is Kentucky.
