This is a huge blow for a team that had a lot of high hopes coming into the season and for a quarterback that some once again had pegged in the Heisman Trophy conversation. Hill left the game in the second half following a slide with what appeared to be a foot injury. Aside from announcing that he will miss the season, Mendenhall did confirm that the foot was the issue.
Before he left the game against Nebraska on Saturday, Hill threw for 268 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also ended up leading the team in rushing for the game, accruing 72 yards on the ground with two more scores.
Now, the rest of the way for this BYU it will be Tanner Mangum leading the way. In relief of Hill after the injury, Mangum finished the game with 112 yards on 7-of-12 passing with one touchdown, which was the Hail Mary that won the game.
