Tennessee Titans acquire Terrance West from Browns
By Josh Hill
The Tennessee Titans have bolstered their backfield by acquiring Terrance West from the Cleveland Browns over Labor Day Weekend.
It’s a weekend of rest for most of the country, but with a week to go until the NFL season starts, the Browns and Titans are busy working on finalizing their rosters. After the rosters were cut down to 53-men on Saturday, there were still some moves to be made and trades are starting to trickle in the Sunday before the start of the regular season.
Terrance West was a name to watch, as the Browns already have a stacked backfield and needed to find a way to loosen the logjam and get some return on young investments. That’s what has happened with West being traded to the Tennessee Titans.
According to Peter Schrager from FOX Sports, the Titans have acquired Terrance West from the Browns just a day after it was revealed that Cleveland was shopping him.
This trade comes after the Dallas Cowboys traded for Christine Michaels, thus filling their need for a back heading into Week 1. There were rumors that the Cowboys were interested in acquiring West, but the asking price from Cleveland was too high.
Ditto for the Houston Texans, who will be without Arian Foster for at least month. Houston might look at the recently released Montee Ball, but never came to terms on a trade with the Browns for West.
the former third round pick will likely see some action in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as the Titans try to figure out what is going on in their backfield this season.
