Arizona LB Scooby Wright out 3-4 weeks following knee procedure
By Jack Crosby
Rich Rodriguez announced on Monday that Scooby Wright will only be missing a few weeks following a meniscus tear
This past weekend in their opening game against UTSA, the Arizona Wildcats were dealt a pretty crushing blow when linebacker Scooby Wright went down with a knee injury. Wright left the game in the first half against the Roadrunners, and afterwards, it was revealed that he had suffered a tear in his meniscus and would need to get it scoped.
Well, the procedure has been completed, and on Monday, Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez let everyone know that Wright will be out of action for the next 3-4 weeks.
While you never want to lose one of the best players in the country for any amount of time, this is some fairly good news. Whenever you see a player go down with a knee injury, you automatically believe the worst and he’ll be out for the season. This is what happened when Wright went down, but thankfully he’ll be back on the field shortly.
As for the games that he’ll miss? Well, looking at the next four weeks for the Wildcats, Wright will be out of action for Nevada, Northern Arizona, UCLA and possibly Stanford. Should he be out the full four weeks, then he will not be out there for the contest against the Cardinal.
Knowing how tough Wright is, there’s a very good chance that he will be ready to return following the UCLA game.
