Team Defenses

Seattle Seahawks D/ST (5,000): While normally I avoid big-name options at team defense, the Seahawks visiting the Rams should be lined up for a strong start even without Kam Chancellor who is expected to sit out due to a contract dispute.  The ‘Hawks could catch the Rams without either Todd Gurley or Tre Mason which would leave them with Benny Cunningham as their starting running back.  If the Seahawks can just rush the passer it could be a long day for Nick Foles in his Rams’ debut.

Miami Dolphins D/ST (4,700): Another defense I like a lot this week is the Dolphins D who will get to roll out their new-look front seven against the Redskins this week in DC.  Kirk Cousins will start for Washington and has been prone to become a turnover machine, so look for the Dolphins D to turn up the pressure on Cousins all game long.

Arizona Cardinals D/ST (4,300): If you have to go cheap on defense, the Cardinals make a good play against the Saints this week.  New Orleans offense doesn’t always travel well outside the SuperDome and they’ll be without Jimmy Graham, Pierre Thomas, Kenny Stills, and C.J. Spiller this week.  While they still have Drew Brees and Mark Ingram, I don’t see the Saints piling on a good Arizona D in Phoenix.
