Louisiana Tech vs Western Kentucky
While Thursday night the NFL will take center stage as they open up their regular season, that doesn’t mean the college football action for Week 2 comes to a complete halt. On Thursday night, we will get a match up that pits the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs traveling on the road to take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
Louisiana Tech got their 2015 season started off in a big way last weekend, pummeling the Southern Jaguars 62-0. The story of this season-opening win was most certainly the performance of former Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel. The Gators transfer had a stellar debut for his new school, throwing for 274 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran one in to give him a total of five scores for the day, proving that he can be a threat possibly in the right system.
Western Kentucky may have had themselves an even better opening weekend, though, as they defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores of the SEC. Sure, it is Vanderbilt, but it’s still a win over a team from the best conference in college football, which does ultimately count for something. We’ll see on Thursday if they can keep that momentum going against a Louisiana Tech team that looks mighty good as well.
