South Florida Bulls vs. Florida State Seminoles
Everett Golson and the Florida State Seminoles shined in their victory over the Texas State Bobcats in the season-opener. Now they welcome in-state rivals, the South Florida Bulls, to Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday to try and prove that Golson, Dalvin Cook, and the rest of head coach Jimbo Fisher’s men can continue their ways of domination as they look to get back into the College Football Playoff picture.

Keys to Victory
Both the Seminoles and Bulls were dominant in their week one victories over Texas State and Florida A&M respectively. However, this is a much higher level of opponent for each team. For Florida State, their defense has to get pressure on Bulls quarterback Quinton Flowers. Flowers has a ton of inexperience as a starting quarterback and getting him rattled early on would give FSU a major advantage. Also, FSU has to find the same offensive rhythm that they got into against Texas State. They need to get Golson, still new in the Seminoles’ system, and get Cook working well in their rushing attack. As a relatively young team prone to errors, they have to play to their strengths and make sure those strengths are firing on all cylinders on Saturday.
For the Bulls, they are going to have to force the inexperienced parts of the FSU roster into those errors and capitalize on them. If they can do that, they can take advantage of opportunities to make up for the talent disparity between these two teams. Offensively, USF has to find a way to give star running back Marlon Mack going in the flow of the offense. He’s by far the Bulls’ most talented offensive option and, if they want to be able to score with Floirda State, South Florida is going to have to find a way to get him productive touches.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: FSU -28.5
Moneyline: FSU -5500
O/U: 53.5
Prediction
Mack, Flowers and the Bulls will provide a bit more of a challenge for the Seminoles, but I don’t expect Fisher to have FSU making as many mistakes as they did in their season-opener either. Golson, Cook, and the FSU defense should be entirely too much for South Florida to handle. Ultimately this should be a comfortable victory for the Noles.
Final Score: South Florida Bulls: 10, Florida State Seminoles: 52
