Lee Corse looked to make it two-for-two on the season with his College GameDay headgear pick for the Oregon-Michigan State game.
ESPN’s College GameDay rolled into East Lansing on Saturday for a banner Week 2 matchup between the Oregon Ducks and Michigan State Spartans. It’s only the season’s second week, but Lee Corso may have had himself one of the most difficult choices of the entire year.

On one side there’s Oregon. The high-octane Ducks made it all the way last season’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game before running into a buzz saw Ohio State squad. One of their victims in their quest for a title was Michigan State in Eugene. The Ducks started slowly in that contest before reeling off 28 second-half points and coasting to a 46-27 victory. Can new quarterback Vernon Adams and lead-by-example workhorse Royce Freeman repeat that feat in East Lansing?
On the other sideline there’s Michigan State. Connor Cook has progressed in every season and very well could be the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year by year’s end (depending if Ohio State’s stars cannibalize themselves). Beyond that, the Spartans defense should be as stout as ever – even with the departure of defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi.
Last week Corso picked Alabama with little hesitation, and the game played out the same way. So who did Coach go with? Well, it was too tempting to go against his buddy the Oregon Duck. Now it’s time to see if he makes it two-for-two on the season.
