The Kansas City Chiefs are taking on the Houston Texans on the road in the season opener and they’re doing so without the help of right tackle and top draft pick Eric Fisher.

Fisher has been battling an ankle sprain but seemed destined to play on Sunday against the Texans after fully participating in practice all week. For some reason, Fisher ended up not playing against the Texans on Sunday.

Former Kansas City Chiefs and NFL veteran Shaun Smith has some ideas about why Fisher didn’t play. Smith accused Eric Fisher of being afraid of Texans defensive end J.J. Watt.

While Watt is certainly a terrifying NFL defender, but there is no reason for a top draft pick and staple of the offensive line to be afraid. Surely this is speculation and not a reality.

Chiefs fans have to be scared of how Watt could end up manhandling Jah Reid all game, who stepped in for Fisher and signed with the team just days ago.
