Last week, we here at Fantasy CPR did our first ever FanDuel NFL roundtable for week 1 of the season. How did our ā€œpanel of expertsā€ do? Let’s check to see if we really do know what we are talking about!

More from FanDuel

Here are all of the picks with notes. We will give a brief rundown here.

Once again, our panel was:

Mike Marteny, Fantasy CPR editor (March 2014)
Dave Fuqua, Fantasy CPR editor (December 2014)
Andrew Evemy, Fantasy CPR writer (August 2015)
Robert Townsend, Fantasy CPR writer (April 2015)
Dylan Bernstein, Fantasy CPR writer (August 2015)

We have a nice mix of new and veteran writers here on the site, but many of us came from other communities. Here is the rundown of week 1!

Next: Who Was The Best QB?

Sep 13, 2015; Glendale, AZ, USA; Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer (3) looks on during the second half against the New Orleans Saints at University of Phoenix Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Quarterback:

Tom Brady led all quarterbacks with 27.62 fantasy points, but he also played on Thursday night. That means he was not eligible for the big tournaments on Sunday, and that is what we all play for, right? The thrill of winning thousands of dollars for a few dollar investment? Carson Palmer led the way with 25.68 points for the big tournaments. His price was $7,700, which means he was a good value. How did our picks do? Let’s find out!

Mike: Sam Bradford, 15.44 points. 18th among QBs

Dave: Bradford

Dylan: Ryan Tannehill, 11.74 points, 24th

Andrew: Marcus Mariota, 24.96 points, 3rd

Robert: Tyrod Taylor, 15.9 points, 16th

Andrew hit the nail on the head here with Mariota. He trailed only Brady and Carson Palmer, and was the best value at $7,100. He was the QB in FanDuel’s ā€œperfect lineupā€ for week 1. The perfect lineup follows the salary cap, and finds the best players at each position while following the cap.

Andrew was perfect at the QB position. How many of you listened to Andrew? The ones that are were likely counting their winnings as well!

Next: Which Expert Picked Right At RB?

Sep 14, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde (28) carries the ball against the Minnesota Vikings at Levi

Running Back:

Carlos Hyde led all running backs with 31.2 fantasy points on Monday night. He gave many a lineup the last push over the edge against the porous Viking defense. Second was Bears workhorse Matt Forte, who racked up 25.1 fantasy points against the Packers. How did our picks do?

Mike: Adrian Peterson, 6.7 points, 39th among RBs. Peterson was outscored by Marcel Reese, Bilal Powell, Khiry Robinson, Theo Riddick, and Benny Cunningham, among others. Hopefully none of you followed Mike’s advice here!

Dave: Justin Forsett, 7.6 points, 37th. Dave’s pick was nearly as bad!

Dylan: Eddie Lacy, 16.9 points, 9th

Andrew: Jeremy Hill, 18.3, 7th

Robert: Matt Forte, 25.1, 2nd. He also had Eddie Lacy! It’s safe to say that Robert took the RB picks. How many of you followed his lead?

Carlos Hyde at $7,300 and Chris Ivory with 22.5 points for just $6,400 led made the FanDuel perfect lineup. Hyde was only 2.26% owned in week one. That will likely change in week 2, yet his price dropped $300. Why? He faces Pittsburgh.

Next: Who Won The Lottery At WR?

Wide Receiver:

Julio Jones led the way with 30.6 points in week one. He was closely followed by DeAndre Hopkins at 28.3. A distant third was Keenan Allen at 24.1. How did the panel’s picks do? Let’s find out if Robert and Andrew continued their dominance.

Mike: Davante Adams, 7.9 points, 39th among WRs. Hey, at least Mike is consistently hitting 39th!

Dave: Golden Tate, 4.4 points, 60th

Dylan: Jarvis Landry, 16.7 points, 9th

Andrew: Cole Beasley, 4.9 points, 57th

Robert: Julio Jones, 30.6 points, 1st

Robert paid the price for Jones, and it was totally worth it! Jones also headlined the Perfect Lineup even though he was $9,000. Hopkins and Allen were also part of the perfect lineup at $7,800 and $7,900 respectively. Hard to believe that you could afford all of these, huh?

Robert wins at WR also, and made a pretty nice chunk of change on his lineup!

Next: Lot's Of TE's Scored Big In Week 1

Tight End:

Rob Gronkowski led the way with 29.9 points. He was also by far the most expensive tight end. He also played on Thursday. So who was the best in the big tournaments? Tyler Eifert, with 26.9 points. How did our panel do while trying to save you money? Let’s find out!

Mike: Travis Kelce, 25.6 points, 3rd. Kelce was FanDuel’s ā€œbest value pickā€, providing those points for only $6,000 which is over four points per thousand!

Dave: Delanie Walker, 11.8 points, 13th. That is a good point total, and it was still 13th! That says something about how good TE’s were in week 1.

Dylan: Greg Olson, 1.6 points, 39th

Andrew: Jimmy Graham, 14.1 points, 9th.

Robert: Kelce, 25.6 points, 3rd.

None of us had Eifert, who was the TE in the perfect lineup as well. However, two of us did hit the value pick, and when you add Kelce with the rest of Robert’s lineup, you had a winning formula! No one entered the ā€œperfect lineupā€ in FanDuel during week one. That is an indicator of just how hard it is to pick those.

Next: Defense and Kickers Still Mean Something

Sep 13, 2015; Denver, CO, USA; Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus (8) kicks a field goal as punter Britton Colquitt (4) holds in the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The Broncos won 19-13. Mandatory Credit: Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Kicker:

The highest scoring kicker was Brandon McManus with 18 points. He was the kicker in the perfect lineup as well. How did our panel do?

Mike: Blair Walsh, 3 points, 28th. You would think Mike was a Vikings fan with these picks. If he would have went with ā€œhisā€ kicker, Steven Hauschka, he would have had 11 points, tying for 6th.

Dave: Adam Vinatieri, 0 points, t-33rd. Ouch! Just……ouch!

Dylan: Cody Parkey, 6 points, t-21st

Andrew: Justin Tucker, 10 points, t-8th

Robert: Brandon McManus, 18 points, 1st.

Robert hits again on his kicker. I told you his lineup was good!

Defense:

Mike: Dolphins, 15 points, 5th

Dave: Browns, 1 point, 23rd

Andrew: Seahawks, 19 points, 3rd

Dylan: Dolphins, 15 points, 5th

Robert: Dolphins, 15 points, 5th

Andrew wins the defenses by paying for Seattle. Carolina scored 21 points, and secured their spot in the perfect lineup.

These weren’t quite the full lineups – we can’t give all of our secrets away – but here is how it played out in week 1:

Robert: 120.3

Andrew: 87.3

Mike: 73.6

Dylan: 67.9

Dave: 40.2
