When he isn’t winning grand slams, Novak Djokovic has taken to playing against Stephen Colbert; who just so happened to be armed with a Captain America shield.

Over the last five years or so, Novak Djokovic has well and truly emerged as tennis royalty. He’s won the Australian Open five times, the U.S. Open twice, the French Open three times, and has claimed the best prize in all of tennis by winning three Wimbledon titles as well. Now, he continues to perform as the number 1 seed in the world.

In short, there’s no one that Djokovic can’t beat. From the likes of Andy Murray to the legend that is Roger Federer, Novak has rarely been stopped in his rise to stardom. Most recently, he faced the latter in the final of the 2015 U.S. open to claim his tenth grand slam.

Djokovic defeated Federer in four sets (6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4), which moved him one step closer to the Swiss legend’s record of 17 grand slams. However, it’s going to take some time for Djokovic to pass Federer’s tally.

In the meantime, he’s taken to finding himself some new opponents. How about Stephen Colbert, for example.

Colbert wasn’t unarmed, though. That would have just been unfair, considering the fact that Novak Djokovic’s serve can reach 130 MPH with ease. So, to defend himself against such a strong serve, Colbert wisely chose Captain America’s shield. Because why not?

The host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert may have been cowering in fear behind his shield, but that still didn’t stop Djokovic’s serve from slamming the shield into his head.

What’s more impressive about Novak’s serve, though, is that as well as the power (which we all know tennis players have) was his accuracy to hit the shield’s star with ease on his first try. It would be incredibly difficult for any of us to attempt, yet Djokovic just made it look far too easy.

It’s safe to say that after that Colbert was ready to start the show. And, as per usual, Novak Djokovic will continue to take the tennis world by storm when he next faces an opponent with an actual racket.
