The No. 9 Florida State Seminoles defeated the Boston College Eagles on Friday night in Chestnut Hill

Florida State went into Boston College on Friday night as the No. 9 team in the country and looking to stay undefeated on the year. While it wasn’t in the easiest fashion –or the prettiest, for that matter– they were successful in that mission as they downed the Boston College Eagles by a score of 14-0 in what was a sloppy game in Chestnut Hill.

The Seminoles opened up the game with the ball and they drove 83 yards in eight plays, ending with Everett Golson hitting Travis Rudolph with a nine-yard scoring strike. From there, it looked like Florida State would be ready to roll in this one. Well, that wasn’t the case as neither team was really ready to roll. This was a defensive battle, and after that first Florida State drive, everything just kind of went stagnant.

Things would actually stay this way until the fourth quarter when Jalen Ramsey picked up a Jon Hilliman fumble and ran it in for the 14-0 lead, giving the Seminoles a nice little cushion.

From there, the Florida State defense would continue to stifle the Boston College offense and they were able to hold on for the win.

Three Stars

Cason Beatty (Florida State, P): 7 punts on the night with an average of 52.3 yards per attempt.

Jalen Ramsey (DB, Florida State): Fumble return in fourth quarter to give Florida State 14-0 lead.

Boston College Defense: Held Florida State running back Dalvin Cook to under 100 yards, first team this season to do so.
